เรื่องราวของ The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special เริ่มต้นขึ้นเมื่อเพื่อนของพวกเขาอย่าง Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) ยังคงจมอยู่กับความโศกเศร้าที่ต้องสูญเสีย Gamora (Zoe Saldana) หญิงสาวผู้เป็นที่รักไป แก๊ง Guardians of the Galaxy จึงวางแผนที่จะออกตามหาของขวัญวันคริสต์มาสสุดพิเศษให้กับ Quill เพื่อหวังว่าจะทำให้เขารู้สึกดีขึ้น จึงเป็นหน้าที่ของ Drax (Dave Bautista) และ Mantis (Pom Klementieff) ที่จะต้องเดินทางไปยังโลกเพื่อตามหาของขวัญสุดพิเศษมาให้กับ Quill
