Gastech 2026, one of the world’s largest energy conference and exhibition platforms spanning natural gas, LNG, low-carbon solutions, and more, will be held at BITEC, Bangkok, from September 14–17, 2026, a significant event amid Thailand’s push toward sweeping energy reform.

Asia is fast becoming an important energy hub for the world, fueled by rapid urbanization, digital transformation, and infrastructure expansion, pushing regional energy demand upward and opening opportunities for innovation in the space. The rapid growth of data centers has sparked debates about energy and supply, making it a key theme for this year’s conference. 

According to data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), more than 80% of global energy demand growth in 2024 came from emerging and developing economies. Global data center electricity consumption alone is expected to nearly double between 2025 and 2030, while global energy investment in 2025 is projected at US$3.3 trillion.

One of this year’s new highlights is the Electrification Strategic Conference Program, held in partnership with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), which will take a deep dive into technology, shifting electricity demand, and the investment approaches needed to build a secure and reliable power system.
